Club Statement On Holdsworth Departure

Dean Holdsworth was today relieved of his duties as manager, and the club have released a statement explaining their reasons why.

Some fans will no doubt agree with the sentiments, others will wonder about the timing following the Torquay victory.

The statement released on the Official Site explained that the club had taken the decision because of our recent form resulting in seven points from seven games, irrespective of the Torquay victory, and with only 13 games left, tit was felt a new impetus may be our best way forward.

'The board would like to place on record their thanks and appreciation for Dean's efforts during his time at the football club and acknowledge the difficult circumstances under which Dean has managed to steer us out of the relegation places.'

The statement ends with the club saying they will make no further comments until the time they are to announce his replacement, which they hope to be able to do prior to the Fleetwood game.
